Hi Everyone,
Personal Trainer and Wellbeing Expert Harry Jameson here.
If you’ve been following the INEOS Go Humans Academy, we’re asking everyone to get involved to improve your mental and physical health in easily digestible 30-day challenges.
Wellbeing should be preventative.
When we feel less mobile, we tend to start avoiding activities - leaving us feeling frustrated.
Good mobility is a great way to protect against future injury and disease, as well as improving daily performance that allows us to carry out every-day and physical activities.
Your next challenge is the LOWER BODY MOBILITY STRETCH
This is a simple and effective three-dimensional stretch for the hip flexors.
Very open tight in runners and those who sit for longer periods of time.
Tightness can inhibit quality performance and lead to lower back issues as pulls on pelvis.
It’s good for anyone who runs and anyone who spends too much time sitting down, driving or sitting at a desk, for example.
With more of us working from home more often, this is one of the areas of the body that will definitely benefit from more activity.
Also, if you spend a lot of time gaming or looking at a screen, this stretch will be perfect for you too.
So, what you’re doing to do is this.
Kneel on one knee, move hips forward to create flexor tension and repeat 5-8 times, move front foot 20-30 degree right and repeat, move front foot 10-20 degrees right and repeat.
Change sides
Right, same thing again, try and do this 3 times a week for 30 days.
This shouldn’t feel too demanding, so there should be no excuses.
Come and join in - and let us know how you’re getting on by tagging INEOS on instagram with the hash tag #GoHumansAcademy.
